What's up hockey players... just wanted to do a little check-in as we move into the middle of February.
After hitting a little personal rut toward the end of 2020 (pandemic/lockdown taking its toll on me) I've bounced back and started to dial in my training again.Β Just working out from home with the limited equipment I have but am crushing some workouts and testing out some new training methods.
How's your year starting off?Β Are you staying on track with your 2021 goals? What are you looking forward to most this year?

When is the Android App Coming Out?
Here is the response from the Circle team whom we use to host this Hockey Training community: "The Android mobile experience is important to us, too. While we're not actively working on an Android app just yet, we plan on starting it later in the year."

In case you missed my email update, I just wanted to let everyone know that we've got a new Men's League Domination system coming out on February 15th.

The Challenge:
Complete 4 Edge Work sessions in one week - this can include warm-ups, cool downs, or complete edge work routines.
If you are a member you can find some training in our Edge Work Enhancer system. If you aren't a member you can put together your own warm-ups or cool downs using the exercises in this video.
How Will This Help Me?
Elite hockey athletes must create a stable balance around the ankles because the greater amount of force the ankles can safely absorb and produce results in their ability to transfer into better edge work and overall better skating.

How Will This Help Me?
Elite hockey athletes must create a stable balance around the ankles because the greater amount of force the ankles can safely absorb and produce results in their ability to transfer into better edge work and overall better skating.
In addition to lower body force production, strengthening the stabilizing muscles around the ankle helps prevent the chronic issues associated with high-velocity motion such as shin splints and tendonitis.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, increased ankle stability leads to enhanced proprioception. Proprioception is the bodyβs ability to realize its place in space (think of having better βbody awarenessβ out on the ice).Β Learn more in this article.
